Welcome to the Mound Advanced Technology Center, a business and scientific technology park located in Miamisburg, Ohio, a small town community of approximately 20,000 between Dayton and Cincinnati and within a region of about 1.5 million people known as the Miami Valley. Aptly named for the intertwining Great Miami River and the nationally designated scenic Little Miami River, that wind their way through the area and by the Mound site, it is an area rich in the tradition of innovation and invention.

The region’s legacy as a mecca for invention technological prowess and manufacturing leadership is well founded. In addition to the Mound site’s former role in, and critical contributions to, the Manhattan project and national defense weapons systems, as well as pioneering spacecraft power systems technologies, the region can boast a century of leadership in national patent issuance from the automotive starter, mechanical cash registers, to the pop-top can and supersonic aircraft.

Following de-commissioning of the Mound site by the Department of Energy in the early 90’s, the City of Miamisburg created the Miamisburg Mound Community Improvement Corporation (MMCIC) to spearhead redevelopment and reuse of the site and to direct the transfer of the site’s technologies and facilities to the private sector. The MMCIC, in turn, established the Mound Advanced Technology Center, where 16 companies and 260+ employees continue the tradition and legacy of innovation and invention today. At the MATC, businesses have access to a powerful combination of business solutions in a nurturing environment that facilitate competitiveness, success and innovation.
