Location: The Dayton Region is a good place to do business

Mound is situated within the city of Miamisburg, Ohio, a community of 20,000 people in the southern portion of the Dayton region. Mound’s central location within the U.S. heartland and easy access to major highways and cities such as Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio, and Indianapolis, Indiana, make it an attractive location to grow a business.

The Dayton region’s legacy as a hub of invention, technological prowess and manufacturing strength goes beyond Mound’s historical contributions. The region claims a century of leadership in national patents being issued – from the automotive starter and mechanical cash registers, to the pop-top can and supersonic aircraft.

Today the region is strongly tied to industries in diverse sectors, including aerospace research and development, human sciences and health care, information technology, and advanced materials and advanced manufacturing.

A metropolitan area of some 1.5 million people, the Dayton region is served by major interstates, including the intersection of I-75 and I-70, known as the Crossroads of America. Interstates 71 and 74 are accessible nearby.

A new interchange at I-75 and Miamisburg-Springboro Pike provides outstanding interstate access to Miamisburg, the Mound site and nearby establishments. This new interchange makes it even easier for companies to recruit from the combined Dayton-Cincinnati workforce.

Companies that locate here enjoy the benefits of operating within the country’s best 90-minute air market, and in the top ten of all 90-minute highway markets. More than 50 percent of the nation’s population lives within one and one-half hours of the Dayton region.

According to the Dayton Chamber of Commerce, some 50 trucking and motor freight companies operate locally, and the area also has access to two Class I rail systems, CSX and Norfolk Southern. Both have large switching yards in the area and can accommodate nearly all rail needs.

Domestic and international air travel is readily available through the Dayton International Airport and the Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport, a general aviation airport located just ten minutes from Mound and serving primarily corporate and personal aircraft users. The Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport and the Port Columbus International Airport both are just about one hour away.

The Dayton region is strong in Midwestern values and provides lifestyle advantages that support the recruitment of quality employees – and the bottom line. A below-average cost of living, competitive costs of doing business, an abundant and high-quality water supply, and an excellent quality of life – all features contribute to Ohio's national prominence in economic development.

Mound’s location – and the advantages that come with it – make the site a great place to start or grow a business. Please contact us to learn how you can make it your company’s location.
